2nd Gen Airbags Safer For Kids Still Safe For Adults

Reuters reports that secondgeneration airbags are less risky for children while still providing appropriate levels of safety for larger adults. The development is a vast improvement upon earlier generation airbags which were developed to protect an average size male and could be lethal for smaller adults and children.

When car for kids were equipped with the secondgeneration airbag in 1998 critics voiced fears that making airbags safer for smaller people necessarily increased risks for larger people. However data recently gathered in a University of Washington study shows these fears to be unfounded. The secondgeneration airbags which deploy with less force and provide other advancements provide just 10 percent higher risk of death in children over no airbag compared to 66 percent more risk with firstgeneration airbags.

There are a huge number of really fun card games for kids that are perfect for playing at home or during those long boring car trips. I have even found that for every new card game that has come out there is an old one that is just as good.

Staving off the effects of boredom is probably the most useful aspect of most card games that kids can play. The ones that children actually look forward to and are eager to play are even better. Either way the name of the game always has to be first and foremost fun. If kids enjoy it then that’s all that really matters.

The moral of the story? Kidsafer airbags aren’t offset by higher risk to larger adults.
