Automakers Tighten Belts And Offer Incentives

Automakers Tighten Belts And Offer Incentives

The American economy is not as strong as Americans would want it to be. The housing problem still exists and the price of petroleum fuel is increasing. On top of this the government looks to be in a locked mode just watching the action between presidential candidates.

Thus consumers are left off to cope up with the increasing price of commodities on their own. Automakers are aware of this and they are also aware that the demand for new vehicles is still there the problem is that people are not as interested anymore due to financial concerns.

The answer of automakers is to tighten up their belts and offer incentives to consumers. These incentives come in different forms depending on the automaker. The Big Three General Motors Ford and Chrysler have seen their market share dwindling thus they are the most aggressive when it comes to offering discounts to consumers.

Japanese and European automakers though are also feeling the pressure of the downturn in the economy. Thus even Honda Toyota Nissan and BMW are also offering incentives to consumers. In the past these automakers offer these incentives only to few vehicles. Today though the situation calls for drastic measures and automakers are forced to offer popular nameplates with incentives.

BMW the German luxury automaker seems to have no trouble last year in keeping up with the sales goal that they have set. Last month though the automaker announced that they would be cutting down on production cost. It is expected that their RD arm will take most of the blow.

This apparent trouble inside the German automaker looks to be more apparent today. The automaker is offering a 369 monthly lease for the popular BMW 3 Series. Consumers who have been thinking about buying a BMW but were worried about the increasing price of petroleum fuel and the high price of prestigious car brands would consider this period to be the right time to purchase a BMW.

Even Toyota which is not really known to have highpriced vehicles in its lineup is offering a zero percent financing deal for the 2008 Highlander and the 2008 Camry. These two vehicles are very popular in the United States for their fuel efficiency and reliability which is far superior to the durability of Acura floor mats.

If Toyota and BMW are offering these incentives for consumers one could easily infer that the Big Three are offering much aggressive incentive schemes.

Auto Bailout V.s The Alternative

Auto Bailout V.s The Alternative

Toronto We can all debate the merits of a government bailout for the Big Three Automakers until we are blue in the face but what we sometimes fail to see are the facts that surround that debate. Whether we like it or not our opinions are largely based on water cooler banter and conflicting news reports from multiple news agencies pushing their agendas and leading us to ignore some of the deeper true meanings behind the debate. I will ask you to push aside any bias you may have against American made new amp; used cars and take a look at those facts and try and come to a conclusion based reason and fact.

Fact: We are no longer driving our fathers used cars.

The big three have made great strides towards producing cleaner greener and more fuel efficient vehicles in the last 15 years and are continuing to invest in environmental technologies for our new and used cars.

Used cars that are made in America and Canada provide hundreds of thousands jobs in the auto trader market today.

Fact: The U.S. congress has the greatest deficit in history.

They continue to hold the auto makers feet over the fire while they bailout companies such as AIG to the tune of 150 billion.

These are the same companies that are responsible for the worldwide economic crisis and the automakers cant get 25 billion Loan.

The new and used cars from an auto trader are responsible for millions of dollars being pumped into our economy. Can AIG or any of the others say the same?

Fact: The job tree starts with manufacturing and the Auto Industry

Every 1 job in the auto industry supports 7.5 more jobs in supporting industries

Fact: The auto industry should be found guilty.

Guilty of paying decent wages and benefits to its members

Guilty of employing millions of Canadians and Americans while other companies are outsourcing all their jobs overseas

Guilty of pumping money into the economy

Guilty of being the last great patriotic companies left in North America
